A SPECIAL VISITOR

Last week Helen visited our classroom to help us learn about adjectives. She taught us about adjectives and how professional authors use them all the time.

Firstly, Helen asked us about adjectives and was really impressed with what we knew. Next she gave us a pile of popcorn kernels and asked us to describe them to a partner.

Once we finished, we popped our kernels and described them again and investigated the difference between our first and second description.

Lastly, Helen explained ADJECTIVALS to us. She explained that adjectivals go AFTER the noun and give us a little bit more information.

The white popcorn THAT WAS WARM AND SALTY

The soft popcorn WHICH WAS DISGUSTING

(The adjective is underlined and the adjectival is bold and in capitals)

Overall, the lesson was delicious!
