SHAPES SHAPES SHAPES!!!!

For Maths we have been looking at 2D and 3D shapes. We were almost experts with them so Patrick decided to create '3D shape stations' so that we morph 4 different lessons into one gigantic exploration session. It was a great idea. We had so much fun.

The first station was about describing the features of a 3D shape. Patrick gave us different plastic shapes and it was our job to list their face, edges and verticies.

The second station was about drawing 3D shapes. Patrick put a video on our blog of a teacher explaining how to draw 3D shapes. It was our job to watch and copy. Some of them were really tricky.

The third station was about looking for shapes in 3D shapes. Patrick printed off a varitey of 3D shape nets and it was our job to investigate all of the different shapes that make a 3D shape. After we were done we could actually make the shape using the paper and a lot of sticky tape.

The last station was about making 3D shapes. Patrick gave us a tonne of Blu-Tack and Paddle Pop sticks and we were able to make whatever 3D shape that we wanted to.

It was a great lessons and we learnt so much!
