PLAN MY NARRATIVE!

This week we have been looking at how to plan a good narrative. We all decided that an exciting narrative should have characters, a setting, a problem and a solution

In  teams we used our planning strategy, that we developed with Patrick, and planned a fake narrative. It went really well. So well that Patrick asked us to work by ourselves and plan our own fake narrative.

Here's our planning strategy.

WE WENT ON A SHAPE HUNT!

This week we have been looking at 3D shapes. We have been investigating what 3D shapes have. We found out that ALL 3D shapes 3 different properties.

FACES
EDGES
CORNERS

Patrick, with the help of 3 other students, hid a lot of 3D shapes around our classroom and it was up to us to find them and write their properties on our data sheet. We did a really great job!

Here's the data sheet that we used.

MATHS IN 2/3P

This week for Maths we have been looking at BREAKING numbers. Patrick asked us to break our number into thousands, hundred, tens and ones. We got so good at it as a class that he decided to put an online random number generator on the blog and let us work individually. We loved working on our Chromebooks!

Some of us had a whole page full of broken numbers after only 5 minutes!

OUR FIRST DAY OF 2/3P!!!

On our first day of school Patrick asked us to cut out candles to make our classroom birthday cupcakes. They look fantastic.

Once we finished sticking our birthday candles on the muffins, we looked at the whole muffin group and turned them into a Maths graph. We investigated each month and talked about the months that had the most birthdays, the months had the same amount of birthdays and the 'loneliest' months. It was a great little Maths lesson.

Can you see any more Maths questions in our birthday muffins?

THE NEW YEAR!!!

The new school year has started and 2/3P are off to a BANG! We have settled down well and are already working really hard! Patrick has been extremely impressed with how quickly we have switched from 'holiday mode' into 'school mode.'
